Pandemic Project
In 2020, I began working on a personal project during the first lockdown. Below are the illustrations of a male and female character, character turns and sketches I produced for this project which slowly evolved into the short animation 'Ashara', on which I collaborated with a friend who composed the music. I was using this project as a way to teach myself new skills during the pandemic, such as designing character turns, building a character rig and animating test walk cycles of the male character. All animation was created in Adobe Animate.
In 2021, I taught myself Storyboard Pro and used this project as a starting off point; creating a storyboard animatic, to help me learn the software. This time round I wanted to create an animatic for a project I could eventually utilize the rig I built. I aimed to keep the animatic simple - creating a story which showed the character travelling through the desert - as I wanted the animatic project to be manageable enough to complete. Music for both 'The Wanderer' and 'Ashara' was composed by Virginia Eglantine.
